Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to enter, judge and run an award program on AwardKit.
Last reviewed October 25, 2026

Our commitment

AwardKit aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and to the Revised Section 508 standards. This covers the pages entrants use to submit, the pages judges use to score, and the dashboard organizers use to run their programs.

We test with automated checks, with the keyboard alone, and with the VoiceOver and NVDA screen readers. The automated checks run again on every change to the product’s interface.

Current status

Our latest Accessibility Conformance Report is based on VPAT 2.5, Revised Section 508 edition. It is dated October 25, 2026.

The report finds that AwardKit supports every WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA success criterion across its entrant, judge and organizer interfaces. It also finds that AwardKit supports each Revised Section 508 requirement that applies to a web application, including those for content authoring tools and for support documentation.

The report covers the AwardKit application. It does not cover our marketing site.

Known limitations

Some content on a program comes from the people who take part in it. How accessible an uploaded video, image or document is depends on the captions, descriptions and alt text that entrants and organizers provide. We give them the tools to provide it.

  • Entrants can add alt text to every image they upload.
  • Entrants can add a written description to every video.
  • Entrants can add a captions file to every video. Where an organization keeps AI features on, a video without a captions file gets automatic captions, which the organizer’s team can review and correct.
  • Entrants can add an audio description to every video. Viewers choose it in the video player.
  • Entrants can add a transcript to every audio file.
  • Organizers can describe their organization logo and the header image of each program.
